The USMPT’s Sports Performance Test is designed to provide feedback to athletes of all ages, skill levels, and sports on how to reach optimal performance while significantly reducing their risk for injury. We use this evaluation with our clients to individualized Performance Training programs which are designed to help them reach their full athletic potential.
The Sports Performance Test is designed to assess an individual’s ability to perform several skills which create the foundation of athleticism. This 30 minute screening will examine abilities in movement, agility, power production, flexibility and stability. Every athlete or active person must functioning fully in these five attributes for optimal performance. It has been our experience, at Ullucci Sports Medicine & Physical Therapy, that most athletes and active person’s are training and participating in activities with deficits in some if not all of these areas. Without correction these deficits will limit performance and possibly lead to preventable injuries.
The Sports Performance Test will include a Functional Movement Screening, Vertical Jump Test, Pro Agility Drill, and an athletic injury Risk assessment. See the videos on this page for an example of each of these tests. What these evaluations will provide are a basic understanding of the individual’s strength and weaknesses athletically. Everyone has heard the cliché “you’re only as strong as your weakest link”. Here at Ullucci Sports Medicine & Physical Therapy we truly believe that cliché and though our Sports Performance Test we are able to provide our clients with a solid understanding of how to improve their weaknesses into strengths and how to develop optimal athletic performance.
